Merck President to Testify at Vioxx Lawsuits

According to an AP article by Linda A. Johnson in the Miami Herald, State Superior Court Judge Carol E. Higbee has issued a verbal order which will require Raymond V. Gilmartin "to answer questions from plaintiffs' attorneys about his knowledge of risks associated with Vioxx before Merck voluntarily pulled it from the market worldwide on Sept. 30."

Attorneys for plaintiffs in the many Vioxx cases filed so far against Merck clearly want to know exactly what the top executives knew about the dangers of Vioxx before the recall.
